“Miss Pink - Licence To Kill” . Video Piece, (05:43 mins), 2019.
Using the Bond series as a cipher for the establishment tradition of heteronormative, patriarchal cinema, Izzy MacC distorts this big budget, highly glamorized cinematic institution into the world of the Other and underground trash-camp. Creating an alternative reality where the Bond girl is a metamorphosing drag queen and the 007 agent himself is just a clothes mannequin.
Traditionally James Bond is the poster boy for "British charm" and has become something of a "National Treasure" despite the repeated racism, sexism and violence towards women. The willful blindness of even modern audiences to the systemic abuse allows this character to be seen as a hero, even today. "Miss Pink - Licence To Kill" strips the bond character of this facade, deglamourizing him. By doing so, it allows for the creation of an alternative narrative...

“Once More With Feeling”. Video Piece, (11:33), 2021.
For Izzy MacC’s graduate show piece, entitled ‘Once More With Feeling’, digital collage becomes a time-based piece, moving away from the static subject while emphasizing materiality in another level of artistic intervention; incorporating their video and sound works alongside oil paint - ink jet hybrid canvases; fully fabricating their practice of worlding and queer space creation into an immersive, and refreshingly transportative installation - here lies the film.
